Northwest Airlines Wings Program - August
2000
Flight: Detroit Metro (DTW)
to Grand Rapids
Aircraft: DC9, Airbus A319
Camera Used: Kodak Disposable Camera / Scanned Images
The Northwest Airlines Wings Program,
no longer run by NWA, was a course set up for people who have a fear
of flying. It was a 3-day program lead by a facilitator, two
psychologists, and two NWA pilots. The course consisted of
discussion time ( featuring a full explanation of the aircraft,
safety features and different aspects of a normal airline flight),
hangar visit at DTW for an up close and personal view of the
aircraft, and a round-trip graduation flight on the last day.
The first part of this series was
taken during thet NWA maintenance hanger visit at Detroit Metro
Airport (DTW). The second series was taken during the "graduation
flight" to Grand Rapids and back to Detroit.

As you can
see, it was tough getting me out of that seat. |

I promise the
First Officer made me wear his cap. Small cap, I might add. |
